Keeping track of your house keys

A neighbour on our street would like to share this salutory reminder about house keys.

He and his partner use locks one and three on the front door, as they have never had a copy of the key for lock two. They returned from holiday to find their flat had been locked and they couldn't get in. The locksmith was called, and it was discovered that someone had locked the flat, from the inside, using lock two. Nothing was taken, but it was a very unsettling experience.

The police advice is that you should change your locks, on taking over a property, and keep a close track on who you lend your keys to.
