September 2010 : Satellite Dishes in Conservation Area (Southwark)

    Extract from Southwark website confirms that:

    Planning permission is required to erect a satellite dish on a property in a conservation area if it would be seen from the street. Again, if the house is a listed building then listed building consent is required. Underground cable systems should be considered in conservation areas.

    In both Lambeth and Southwark parts of the conservation area there are huge numbers of dishes without approval.

    We have the option to complete an audit and ask the council to take action. Thoughts welcome.
